As we gain new employees at Bowhill Engineering and continue to grow as a successful engineering firm in the Murraylands, it is very important to support our new employees through their onboarding process.  We firmly believe in setting our employees up for success right from the start and have put a lot of focus and time into our onboarding process to ensure retention of new staff is maintained and the wellbeing of our staff is prioritised.

Our onboarding process is very detailed and ensures that all new employees feel valued and welcome in our Boweng community from day one. Bowhill Engineering makes it easy for a new employee to enter our workplace and our HR Team ensures that new employee’s feel welcome and settled within their first week.  We do this by several firmly integrated processes in our induction procedure & process, because we’ve been doing this for a long time, it has become natural to all of us and that’s what we love.

Day 1, it doesn’t matter whether you are a work experience student, fabrication team member or leadership member, we love to take the time to show you around the workplace and get to know other team members, not just those you will be working closely with.  From our supported administration induction, first day and continuing WHS training and buddy assignment, we’ll have you comfortable, supported, and confident in your decision to join the Boweng team.

Regular HR check ins during the first week, first month, 90 days and even an informal chat at 3 months with our Managing Director and Team Leader ensure employees have open communication opportunities to ask any questions, feel valued within their role and discuss how they are feeling as part of the Boweng team.

What we are most proud of is the welcoming atmosphere and attitude of our current employees, as you walk through a workplace the faces, smiles and welcome handshakes can tell you a lot about the company you have joined.  We also find our Social Club events are a great way of getting to know your team members outside of work. Our Bowhill Engineering company culture is a big part of the success of our business and is one of the many reasons Bowhill Engineering is considered an employer of choice in the Murraylands.

We all get to enjoy; new employee welcome lunches, held to welcome recent new employees to the business.  It’s like a big family lunch, a welcome celebration in appreciation of you joining the team and the organisation.

We are always looking for future growth opportunities for new staff such as training & development to meet your new role requirements and communication with our staff is part of our daily routines no matter what part of the team you are in.  This ties in with our Performance Appraisal process where employees have the opportunity to set goals, review training requirements, even discuss their performance based wage annually.

We take the time to choose the right people for the job, we don’t just hire to fill a position.  If you’re part of our team, its because we truly want you here and want to see you succeed and we will do  everything we can to make that happen – together we thrive, its not just a company purpose, its something we all believe in.

As a new employee who started only 5 months ago, I really liked how welcoming everyone was and how they all went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed. The company culture at Bowhill Engineering is very much like a family where everyone is listened to and respected. The company culture and atmosphere certainly helped me to feel a part of the team and family.
