Bowhill Engineering is proud to celebrate two project achievements at the Australian Steel Excellence Awards 2026, presented by the Australian Steel Institute (ASI) in South Australia.

Torrens to Darlington Cross Tunnel Passage Openings
The Torrens to Darlington project presented a significant manufacturing challenge, requiring precision, consistency and careful management of complex geometries.
Bowhill Engineering manufactured 648 steel segments for the Cross Tunnel Passage Openings, incorporating extensive robotic welding and advanced manufacturing processes to meet the project’s demanding specifications.
Delivering these components required more than fabrication capability. It involved managing complex geometries, maintaining manufacturing accuracy and coordinating processes to achieve consistent results across hundreds of individual segments.
This project demonstrates how investment in advanced technology, skilled expertise and smarter manufacturing processes enables Bowhill to take on increasingly complex engineering challenges.
