Cameron’s journey with Bowhill Engineering began through several work experience placements while he was still at school. Those opportunities gave him a chance to experience life in the workshop, develop practical skills, and get to know the Bowhill team. It didn’t take long for Cameron to realise that engineering was the career path he wanted to pursue.
After finishing his work experience, Cameron joined Bowhill Engineering as a Trade Assistant. As he gained more hands-on experience and confidence, he decided he wanted to take the next step and begin an apprenticeship.
Today, Cameron is completing his Certificate II in Engineering Pathways through school, attending TAFE one day each week while working alongside our experienced team at Bowhill for the remainder of the week. This combination of classroom learning and real-world experience is helping him build a strong foundation for a career in engineering. He will then begin his Certificate III in Engineering next year.
For Cameron, the opportunity to learn from experienced tradespeople while working on real projects has been invaluable. Every day brings something different, and he’s continuing to develop new skills and confidence in the workshop.
Outside of work, Cameron enjoys keeping busy. He’s passionate about cars and motorbikes, plays local football, and reached an exciting milestone this year by making his A Grade debut.
We’re proud to support Cameron as he continues his apprenticeship journey and look forward to seeing where his career takes him. His story is a great example of how work experience can open the door to a rewarding career in engineering.
