On the 13th of October 2023 following a brief site tour of Bowhill Engineering’s facility a very informative Defence readiness discussion took place, 8 regional businesses were represented and nearly 20 attendees contributed to a great discussion.
A special thanks to Brian Condon and Ben Dawson from BAE’s Maritime section of the business as they shared their perspective on how regional businesses can best engage with them for future work opportunities within the Maritime division of their business.
David Royle from ICN also gave his incites to the group’s attendees on how best for members to fully utilize their platform for maximum effect.
Both presenters were very generous with their time and were happy to answer any questions that the attendees could throw at them.
The commitment by our regional businesses is significant, some attendees traveled 400km to attend and contribute to the day. Their commitment was rewarded with a delicious lunch showcasing Ponde Meat on the BBQ and complimented with sweets from Little Local Co.
Bowhill’s purpose of “Together We Thrive” was very much alive in this forum and we will always be a very proud regional business.
