Connor has a great story, it was at a Murray Bridge High School Year 10 Subject Selection night in August 2018, that Connor met our HR Manager and expressed his interest in a Metal Fabrication Apprenticeship because “school just isn’t my thing” & he had started the Cert II Engineering Pathways VET course.

Connor’s Grandpa was a Mechanic and he had spent a great deal of time in the shed with him giving welding a go.  Connor’s Metal Tech Teacher from Murray Bridge High School told us of how impressed he was with Connors dedication to the subject and the quality of work he showed.

Although he was still in Year 10, Connor was keen to get an apprenticeship opportunity as early as he could.  Our HR Manager, Sam set him the challenge of completing a night welding course and to Connors credit he enrolled in it straight away, completed it and lodge his interest in work experience the next day of them meeting.  Connor completed work experience in October 2018 and started with us in January 2019.

This quiet young lad, now trade qualified has grown into an highly skilled Metal Fabricator & a valued part of our Boweng team.
