Michael’s Apprentice story started with his out of school/weekend work with Boweng as our Gardener at a young age. Growing up in the Bowhill community and being involved with Bowhill Engineering through his gardening work, Michael did work experience with Boweng in 2007 with Karoonda Area School and started his Metal Fabrication Apprenticeship in 2008, gaining his Engineering Tradesperson (Fabrication) Trade Certification in 2012. A keen sportsman, Boweng supported Michael through his Sturt footy playing days also throughout this period.
After a stint of FIFO work away from Boweng, Michael found the value in being home around his young family & the opportunities to upskill and further his career growth at Boweng an attraction to return.
Michael’s fitness for work, high work values, exceptional skills and eye for quality has seen him continue to grow with Bowhill Engineering completing a Certificate IV in Competitive Systems and Practices in 2014, Cert III Leadership & Management 2019 & 1:1 Leadership Coaching. Proudly, Michael is now our Welding Supervisor.
