Mitchell Smith walked in our door in July 2021, having completed Cert II Engineering Pathways at TAFE post school. Mitchell had considered University after school at Blackwood High School but decided it wasn’t for him. With a sporting background including Cert III in Sport and Rec and being a player with North Adelaide Junior Development Football team. Mitchell had originally come from Gladstone in the north of South Australia, before moving to Adelaide for footy commitments.
We just knew when Mitchell walked in the door that we wanted him on our team! We signed him up for a week of work experience, which was cut short with a 7 day covid government lockdown announced. We had to send Mitchell out the door but we sent him with a commitment to employ him as an Apprentice as soon as we could and Mitchell started with us in August 2021.
Mitchell’s metal fabrication & welding skills are like his footy skills – he’s quiet but gets the job done, highly skilled and knows how to read the play in what work needs to be done.
