Solution Breakthrough Bowhill delivered this single girder open top box spanning 75m in the 2nd half of 2022, this “fish belly” design was unique and required careful thought around methodology to ensure accuracy of fit up on site. The requirement to FPBW the transverse splice on site required Bowhill to provide special purpose temporary steel trestles to match the shape of the lower flange, the modelling and site coordination played an important part in coordinating this process and the end result was successful delivery of the girder ready for the JV to install with SPMTs using a very innovative methodology where the wheel sets were straddling the canal interacting with temporary extension pieces fixed to the girders.

Sydney Gateway was a very complex project, with the requirement to fabricate, deliver, and install several complex structures in a heavy brownfield environment. Bohwill Engineering was selected undertake work for several of these complex structures. What set Bowhill apart from their competitors was your ability to meet all target dates, some of which were set years in advance. The quality of the product delivered was exactly to the specifications, support and supervision in the field was of the highest standard, and commercial administration was always fair and prompt. You completed the contract on time and within all of the parameters set out in the agreement, with minimal issues. Of particular note, was navigating global supply chain issues, and still finishing the works on time. I have no hesitation in recommending Bowhill Engineering for our next complex structural steel project, and most certainly you will be tendering future packages on future projects. Thank you for the high quality delivery of your works, and the effort, intensity and integrity that was applied throughout your time on the project. Regards
