Tyler Martin is a 4th year apprentice, due to signed off his apprenticeship at then end of 2023. He came to Boweng for a week of work experience in 2019 from Murray Bridge High School and he absolutely loved it. He had just finished Year 11 at the time so he it was recommended he apply for an apprenticeship, which he did, and his apprenticeship commenced in 2020.
During his apprenticeship, Tyler has had to opportunity to complete other types of training, in 2023 he completed a 3-week Weld Fundamentals course through Weld Australia where he learnt some valuable information around quality and standards of welding. This has also lead to an interest into Welding Supervision which is something he is aiming towards in the future. Tyler is also a certified Fire Warden at Boweng after recently completing training for that in August 2023.
Tyler is a boating, camping, fishing kind of guy and enjoys a beer or two and on the weekends, you can find him watching local sport. He said he’s most proud of his contributions to the Oz Minerals Phox Frame because it was a very different project to work on.
Since his apprenticeship commenced in 2020, we have Tyler’s immense growth as a tradesman, and we love his initiative to take on responsibilities such as the Fire Warden role.
