Built Environs | 2002
The scope of the job included: Structural steel and metal works to the south, east and western sides of the existing building as well as a architectural entrance feature.
Detailed 3 dimensional shop drawings, fabrication, surface treatment, transportation, and erection of approximately 50t of complex steel.
Careful planning in conjunction with the builder saw a successful result because the building was still in use during the construction period.
Metal works involved detailed site measurement using total station surveying equipment and resulted in accurate fitting balustrade sections (they were galvanized so site alteration was not possible)
